Midwest Flood Relief

Who We Are

MidwestFloodRelief.org was created (in a bit of a hurry) by private individuals concerned that small rural community disasters receive little more than good wishes from politicians controlling purse strings.

Small towns and rural counties do not have the resources to rebuild after devastation from disasters of the magnitude of this year's flood.

Despite what politicians say, damage amounts that are devasting to small rural communities just don't get the attention of big city lawmakers accustomed to wasting more money in a single day than these people have in their entire annual budget.

As a result, many recent financially debilitating events have failed to generate any meaningful relief from state ands federal governments.

Knowing how the generous citizens of the United States and around the world have responded to people devastated from such events as 9/11, hurricane Katrina and the wildfires out west, a few private citizens have taken upon themselves to get the word out about the Midwest flood damage and the need for meaningful relief to rebuild critical damaged infrastructure and get help for individuals suffering the loss of their home and/or place of employment.
